If you haven’t noticed I DO NOT LIKE BANANAS! Not in bread, not in muffins and definitely not in smoothies.

It’s rare you will see a recipe on this site featuring bananas. Disclaimer: if you do it means it was taste tested by at least 10 people and not myself! For real!

Since I’m so anti-banana, you can only imagine my frustration when every smoothie or nice cream recipe called for it. I couldn’t possibly be the only other person in this world to not like them, could I? Well, I had to take a poll on my Insta Stories to find out and you know what?! The majority of people voted BANANOOOOO!

It was music to my ears!

However, back to the real problem at hand. How do I make a smoothie super creamy without using the “famous” frozen banana? I tried and tested a few different options. My regular go-tos are avocado, zucchini, mango and macadamia nuts. BOOM! LIFE MADE!

This creation is currently on rotation as we’re in prime mango season here in Australia. If you’re anything like me this smoothie will become an all year fave due to the accessibility of frozen mango. Another hot tip, buy those mangoes up when you see them on special and freeze them yourself to help you get through the winter months.

To jazz up this little combo and give it an extra dose of nutrients I add in good ol’ Baby Spinach. It’s gentle and subtle flavour means you cannot taste it AT ALL so don’t be afraid of the green! Also, I’m pretty sure this is why Popeye couldn’t get enough of it!

Trust me when I say, as soon as you take the first sip of this smoothie you’ll be off to paradise! It’s tropical flavours are a dream and will transport you out of your 3:30itis in a flash!

Let me know if you try and what you think!
